McKelvey triumphs in Norfolk Sculls

Eighteen-year-old James McKelvey was the toast of Norwich Rowing Club in the UK last month (Oct 2011) after his triumph in the Norfolk Sculls.

 
One hundred and forty boats, representing 15 clubs from across East Anglia, took part in the event, . The Norfolk Sculls is one of the most prestigious events on the local rowing calendar, taking place between Bramerton and Whitlingham on the River Yare.
 

In the Elite Single class, McKelvey was the fastest sculler of the day taking the Norfolk Sculls’ Shield in a time of 20 minutes 16 seconds.

His was also in the same Norwich RC team winning the fastest four scullers award from one club title.
